Our Court Towers apartment complex, which is located at 21 Court Street in Vernon, is Federally funded. This building is secured by an electronic system, which makes it accessible using either a programmed entry card or phone communication verified by surveillance cameras. It is a six story pre-cast concrete building, consisting of 75 dwelling units, 25 are 1-bedroom, 5 of which are handicap (mobility impaired) units and 25 are efficiencies. Each floor has an enclosed glass sunroom for our tenants' pleasure. The apartments use electric heat, which is included in the rent. Each apartment is equipped with stove; refrigerator and an emergency pull cord. They are all cable ready. We have recently completed renovations to the building, which include a new sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and upgrades to the elevators and common areas to make them handicap accessible according to HUD 504 guidelines. There are garbage chutes on each floor for tenant convenience. Our laundry facility is located on the first floor, and is equipped with three washers and dryers, one of each is handicap accessible. We also have a coffee shop and a gift shop on the first floor. The tenant mail service is also located on the first floor. The Community Renewal Team (CRT) serves lunch in our community area three days during the week, (which is equipped with a full kitchen facility) for a small donation.
